Kanchanjunga Base Camp Trek
Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trekking lead to base camp of third highest peak of the world Mount Kanchenjunga which is least known among all great peaks. Exotic name such as Wedge peak, Pyramid peak, Janu Himal, White Wave , the Twins and, of course, Kanchenjunga provide the inspiration to make the challenging trek to base camp. Our approach takes us up through terraced hillsides of the remoter ethnic group of Rai and Limbu and then among well preserved forest of rhododendron , birch oak and spruce.
Mount Kanchenjunga sits astride the Nepal/Sikkim border only a few miles from Tibet. This route was opened to the trekkers in 1988, though people have trekked in the area in connection with mounaineering expedition since the turn of the century. The region is still restricted to organised expedition group only, special permit needed.
We fly from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and transfer to Basantapur on the same day. The trek begins with our first camp at Chauki then trek through Gyabla, and ascend to the higher camp at Pang Pema (5120m) and camp at Lhonak. The trek concludes at Suketar via the descent from Omje Khola, from where we fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 02 : Sight seeing and free.
Day 03 : Free and Back pack for Trek.
Day 04 : Fly KTM - Biratnagar by flight (1hrs.) and transfer at Hotel.
Day 05 : Dive Biratnagar - Basantapur (2200m.) 7/8 hrs. Camp.
Day 06 : Basantapur - Chouki (2700m.) 6hrs. Camp.
Day 07 : Chouki - Guphapokhari (2930m.) 6hrs. Camp.
Day 08 : Guphapokhari - Nesum (1620m.) 6hrs. Camp.
Day 09 : Nesum - Thumma (1000m.) 6hrs. Camp.
Day 10 : Thumma - Chiruwa (1190m.) 7hrs. camp.
Day 11 : Chiruwa - Sakathum (1640m.) 6hrs. Camp.
Day 12 : Sakathum - Amjilassa (2490m.) 6hrs. Camp.
Day 13 : Amjilassa - Kyapra (2730m.) 5hrs. Camp.
Day 14 : Kyabra - Gunsa (3430m.) 5hrs. Camp.
Day 15 : Gunsa - Khambachen (4040m.) 5hrs. Camp.
Day 16 : Khambachen - Lhonak (4700m.) 5hrs. Camp.
Day 17 : Lhonak - Pangpema (5100m.) 5hrs. Camp.
Day 18 : Pangpema - Khambachen (4040m.) 6hrs. Camp.
Day 19 : Khambachen - Gunsa (3430m.) 6hrs. Camp.
Day 20 : Gunsa - Amjilassa (2490m.) 6hrs. Camp.
Day 21 : Amjilassa - Chiruwa (1190m.) 6hrs. Camp.
Day 22 : Chiruwa -Limkhim (1700m.) 6hrs. Camp.
Day 23 : Limkhim - Suketar (2100m.) 6hrs. Camp.
