Great Himalayan Trail Trekking

Great Himalayan Trail ( GHT ) Trekking is most profoundly provides us with lifelong memory of the mixture of Adventure and fun. We, Holiday Himalaya Treks & Expedition Pvt. Ltd , have successfully organized the trekking of the himalayan trail in 2016. A team of 4 Swiss enthusiasts started the travel on the 17th of August 2016 from Kathmandu and ended the trek on the 12th of December 2016 flying from Bhadrapur to Kathmandu.

The team commenced the great journey from the far western part ( Darchula District ). During those days the team crossed several high passes, found the trails when they got lost in the jungle, encountered numerous hardships and experienced unbeatable natural beauty. The Himalayan ranges, highlands and sometimes plain belts added the difficulty to adapt environment.

Diversity of the nature is the one that a trekker could feel, cultural differences of the inhabitants, socio-economic status of the countrymen and hospitality of the people of all regions are some of the major issues to talk of the achievement o in the the trek besides the adventure and fun.

The temple of Darchula district which is situated in the height of 4700 meter is a site we found most exciting during the trek. Searching the short trails is not easy of course. We hired local guides to reach in the next destination. The GHT would be incomplete if we had no local guides and porters. While crossing border of Darchula and Bajhang, we experienced remarkable difficulties. It is mainly due to the unknown routes of the scarcely known areas by the trekkers. We got lost several times...the trail ended nearby the cliffs from where we had to divert and come to the same place where we started causing the loss of day..
While reaching the Rara Lake of Mugu, we had another type of experience of nature. The silent lake seemed to be welcoming us. The people seemed to be Tibetan. They follow the similar customs, and traditions like of the people of Tibet. The trek remained comparatively hard in this area. Dopla and the tourism of this country has become almost synonymous. Traversing the high pass we reach the Chharka Bhot that led us to be in Muktinath after some days of trekking. Trekking to Dhading bazar from Muktinath is another challenging activity. It is because we had to be in the low land from the remarkable altitudes. The trek of Seranthang ( Helambu area ) crossing the Gonzela pass had also been noted as a difficult trail trek.
The Arun Valley trek after Rolwalling , Khumbu and Sava Pokhari is enough to gain knowledge of the natural diversity of this country which was not easy to complete. And entering the Kanchenjunga region we reached to the border of Nepal and Tibet, Timpu Pokhari, before we returned to Bhadrapur via Taplejung to take plane to Kathmandu.
The trek ended in 118 days.
