Chitwan National Park

Chitwan National Park is situated in Chitwan district. It covers the area of 932sqmt around Siwalik hill range, Narayani river, Rapti river and Reu river. It holds 600 plant species, 50 mammals, 526 birds and 49 amphibians and reptiles, different flora and fauna.

Day 01: Arrival and reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Night in hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing Kathmandu Durbar square, Swayambhunath and Patan. Night in hotel.

Day 03: Arrive at Chitrasari Chitwan from Pokhara or Kathmandu, Reception by naturalist guide. Transfer to the Lodge, refreshments and la briefing about the after-noon program and the lodge facilities. Jungle safari on elephant back. An excellent opportunity to observe four different kinds of deer, rhinoceros, wild boar, leopard, monkeys and many other smaller mammals. In the evening slide show presentation about the natural history of the national park.

Day 04: Nature walk. An excellent opportunity to see a great many of those 522 different species of birds which have made Chitwan their home. Dugout canoe ride along with Dungre/Rapti river. An excellent opportunity for bird watching and to see the 2 rare species of crocodile; the marsh mugger and the fish eating gharial. One hour walk through the jungle to our Jungle Camp (elderly people or those unable to walk will be picked up by landrover). In the afternoon village walk. A conducted visit to the nearby Tharu village or a jungle excursion through the Sal Forest and mixed forest for more wildlife.

Day 05: Elephant safari or at leisure.0930 hrs: Departure from the Lodge for onward journey. Arrival in Kathmandu or Pokhara. Night in hotel.

Day 06: Transfer to Airport in advance of 2 ½ hours of your flight.
