Trek to Build Jiri - Nele

Jiri is a village development committee in Dolakha District in the Janakpur Zone of north-eastern Nepal. Jiri lies at an altitude of 1,905 metres (6,250 feet) and is the eastern-most terminus of the highway coming from Kathmandu. Bus service is available from Kathmandu but the 184 km ride takes 6 to 8 hours due to narrow, winding roads. There are a number of lodges available along either side of the main road mainly in Jiri Bazaar. There is one high school namely Jiri Higher Secondary School at Hatdanda. Jiri was set up as agricultural development centre by the Swiss Government Aid in 1938.

Jiri is the home of an ethnic group called the Jirels.

Pike Peak Solu Trekking

Lying just to the south of the original Everest Trail from Bhandar we pass through authentic Sherpa villages. From the Linkhu Khola we climb steadily through terraced fields. On the trail we will find rhododendron and magnolia forests. We then leave the villages behind us and ascend further through hemlock firs to the cheese factory at Ngaur. The following day we ascend to the summit of Pike Peak. This is one of the main highlights of the trek, giving spectacular views of o number of the most famous Himalayan peaks (Gaurishankar, Thamsherkhu, Makalu and, of course, Everest).

Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu 

On arrival in Kathmandu, after you have passed through Customs and Immigration, you will be met by our airport representative at the airport. And will be welcomed you with garlands of flower and taken on a short drive to Hotel. Then you’ll be served with welcome drink and will start briefing about your programs, will collect necessary documents for permit for the trekking. Dinner is included at the hotel this evening.

Day 2 Full Day Kathmandu Sightseeing

This day is fully sightseeing day and souvenir shopping day. You will visit around the local, markets, most popular sights of Nepal like Bhoudhanath, Bhaktapur & Pasupatinath. 

Pashupatinath 

Hindus holiest temple situated at the bank of Bagmanti River, 5 km away from the downtown of Kathmandu. Thousands of devotees converge here on an annual pilgrimage on the occasion of Maha Shivratri, the night of  Lord Shiva falls in the month February. Entrance into the templeprecincts is permitted only for the Hindus but other can clearly see the temple and rituals beings performed inside from the eastern bank of the Bagmati river.The temple was listed in the UNESCO world Heritage Monument list in 1797. 

Boudhhanath Stupa

Holiest Buddhist stupa of Nepal located at 6 km away from downtown Kathmandu. It was built in fifth century by Lichhavi king Karna Dev. It looms 36 meters high and presents one of the most fascinating specimens of Stupa design. A huge statue of Lord Buddha is kept. Boudhanath a World Heritage Site is also known as Khasti. There are more than 45 Buddhist monasteries in the area. Bhaktapur Durbar Square: This complex of palaces, courtyards, and temples were built in the 12th to 18th centuries used to be the seat of the ancient Malla kings of Kathmandu situated at 12 km from Kathmandu in Baktapur district. An intriguing piece here is the 17th century stone inscription set in to the wall of the palace with writing in 15 languages.

Durbar Square is the social, religious and urban focal point of the city. There are three museums inside the palace building. Highlights: Machchhendranath Temple, Akash Bhairav Temple, Temple of Kumari (Kumari Ghar), Kasthamandap, Jaishi Dewal.

Lunch during the tour and dinner at the evening is included.

Day 3 Drive to Jiri

Early in the morning after having breakfast we will drive to Jiri by tourist or private van. On the way we can see some beautiful place Banepa, Dhulikhel, Charikot etc. After 6 hours drive we will reach a beautiful place Jiri which is our destination. 

We will visit Jiri bazzar and stay at Guest House.

Day 4 Trek to Shivalaya

Today we walk about 5 hours to Shivalaya. The trail goes down to Shivalaya, a small village inhabited by Tamangs and Newars, on the bank of the Shivalaya River . We stay overnight at Guest House.

Day 5 Trek to Bhandar 

A few hours climb leads to Deurali, a small hamlet from where one can see Dudh Kunda Himal, Khatanga, Karylung and Peekye. Then the trail goes down for ½ hour to Bhandar, a Sherpa village with two stupas and a small monastery.  We stay overnight at guesthouse.

Day 6 Trek to Goli 

The trail goes down and after 2 hour arrives at the Likhu Khola, a river forming the boundary to Solu- Khumbu district and Sagarmatha zone. On the other side of the river, a good climb of 4 hrs leads to Namkhile, from where it is possible to see fine views of Numbur Himal.

We will reach to Goli village and we will stay in the village house. Its Home Stay!

Day 7 Trek to Ngaur (3350m) 

After 6 hours walk we will reach to Ngaur. From here, the view towards Gaurishankar and Numbur Himal is spectacular. Fifteen minutes from there is a cheese factory, where one can taste and buy cheese made from Nak (female yak) and dzom’s milk.

Day 8 Trek to Pike Peak (4065m)

We will walk onwards to our destination Pike Peak. After 5 hours we will reach to Pike peak. From the pike peak we can see Mt. Everest, Numbur, Amadablam, Gaurishankar and many more Himalayas. After that we will back to Loding. 

Loding is a village of different ethnic group. You can see a temple of Jwalamai too, which is famous in the area. Today also home stay!

Day 9 Trek to Phaplu (2670m) 

In the morning after having light breakfast we will walk to Phaplu. We will downwards to Solu river and upwards to Phaplu. We can see Phaplu airport which is first airport of Solukhumbu District. 
We will stay at guest house.

Day 10 Trek to Nele (2220m) 

In the morning after having breakfast we visit around Phaplu and Salleri bazaar. After lunch we will trek to Nele bazaar. After 5 hours passing small villages we will reach to Nele bazaar.

Today also Home stay.

Day 11 Rest at Nele village 

Today is rest day. We will visit Nele bazaar and walk around health post and village. 

Today also home stay!

Day 12 Fly back to Kathmandu

Early in the morning after having breakfast we will walk to Kangel airport to catch aero plane. We have to walk about 2 hours to reach to airport. We will fly back to Kathmandu from Kangel.

Transfer to Hotel.

Day 13 Departure from Kathmandu 

Upon your international flight time, we’ll transfer you to the international airport before 3 hrs before your flight departure with the fare well Khada.
